The Sheriff’s Office employs three animal control officers along with Lieutenant Knight and Captain Denham who are all dedicated to the safety of our citizens and the well-being of our domesticated animal population. The Animal Control Division enforces the Alamance Animal Control Ordinance and investigates animal cruelty cases, nuisance animals, and dangerous and noisy dogs. Animal Control works closely with other animal service organizations such Burlington Animal Services and the Humane Society of Alamance County, along with police departments throughout the county.
